Grand Overland Of Nusa Tenggara

Day 01 : ARRIVAL MAUMERE (D)

Upon arrival in Maumere, meeting services and transfer to your hotel. The afternoon program is a visit to Watublapi, a hamlet about 18 km south east of Maumere locally known for it’s fertile land and rich in exotic tropical plants and fruits. You wiII be entertained with dances and folk songs accompanied with local dishes and drink. Dinner is served at the hotel or local restaurant.

 

Day 02 : MAUMERE – MONI (BLD)

Morning after breakfast, visit nearby places, such as Maumere market, Wuring (the fisherman village with houses built on stilts) and Ledalero Museum. Lunch will be provided en-route. During the day you will experience the dramatic change in both nature pattern and ethnicity. In the afternoon you will find yourself in the Lio ethnic environment. Pay a cal! to Lisedetu and Ranggase Villages and mingle with the local’s dally life or just having a closer look into their interesting work of architectures. Overnight in Moni.

 

Day 03 : MONI – KELIMUTU – ENDE – RIUNG (BLD)

Start early to experience the sunrise at Kelimutu, the three colored crater lakes. Once you arrive at Kelimutu you will find yourself in a place like nowhere else in the world, incomparable with known told stories. Afterwards proceed further to Wolotopo by way of Ende. On the way you will pass through ravines and villages. Lunch is provided in Ende before driving further to Riung.

 

Day 04 : RIUNG – BAJAWA (BLD)

Nature conservation Park in Riung is esthablished to protect the under water ecosystem. Take a chance to explore the small isles off shore – known for their beautiful coral gardens with white sandy beaches. There is an island with unspoiled mangrove forests inhabited by thousands of huge fruit eating bats. Afternoon drive to Bajawa, er- route visit some megalithic villages in Soa area.

 

Day 05 : BAJAWA – RUTENG(BLD)

Soon after breakfast, start the day by visiting traditional villages with stone monuments, ancestor worship shrines and also traditional houses, the most beautiful ones are in Wogo and Bena. Visit those village and in the afternoon drive to Ruteng. It is mother beautiful driving day; you will pass through unique villages and lush rain forests. En route stop off at Ranamese Lake. Overnight in Ruteng.

 

Day 06 : RUTENG – LABUAN BAJO – RINCA “ON BOARD” (BLD)

Ruteng is a small town in the backbone of Flores and neighbor to the Ruteng Nature Conservation Park – the home of Ngkiong-the endemic singing birds. It is worth to visit the park early in the morning to attend nature’s concert of singing birds (subjected to weather condition). There is also a newly popped up volcano in the park. Take your chance to have a closer look into it. En-route to Labuan Bajo, stop by at Cara village in Cancar area, to see the unexposed world wonder – The Lingko – spider web shaped rice fields. It is probably the only rice field of this kind that exists on earth. Afternoon set sail to Rinca Island. Upon arrival start trekking to trace the dragons. Overnight on board.

 

Day 07 : RINCA – KOMODO – LABUAN BAJO (BLD)

Early in the morning sail to Komodo to take another chance to trace the dragons on the island. On the way back to Labuan Bajo make sure you visit Pantai Merah, pink coloured sand beach with crystal clear water, beautiful coral gardens and plenty of tropical coral fishes. It is an excellent place to swim, sun bathing and snorkelling. Stay there until the afternoon then returning to Labuan Bajo.

 

Day 08 : LABUAN BAJO – DEPARTURE (B)

Morning free program until time for transfer to airport to catch onward flight.
