Day 01 : YOGYAKARTA
Upon arrival in Yogyakarta, there is a transfer to hotel not far from Borobudur’s ground. The res of the day is free at own leisure. Overnight is in Saraswati Borobodur, an international boutique hotel in the vicinity of the temple’s ground.
Day 02 : YOGYAKARTA (B)
Rise early and climb the temple in time for welcoming the sunrise over Kedu Plain (depends on weather), the serenity over and tranquilty will give you a spectacular moment before exploring the temple for its great Buddha history and philosophy. Afterwards, return to hotel for breakfast and shower; then, continue the trip onward to Yogyakarta. On the way, stop by at Mendut Temple. The afternoon will be spent by visiting Prambanan Temple Complex before returning to hotel. Overnight: Djoglo Plawangan, nestled in a lush tropical snake skin fruit platation area, on the lowe slope of Merapi.
Day 03 : YOGYAKAKTA (B)
Begin the day by traveling on a traditional horse cart or becak to see Old Mosque near by Sultan’s Palace and goto the bustling bird market and Taman Sari. Today’s program ends by visiting some handicrafts centre such as batik and silver.
Day 04 : YOGYAKARTA – MALANG (B)
Take a morning rail journey from Yogyakarta to Kertosono and proceed to Malang. It is expected to reach Malang in the afternoon to enjoy tea and coffee time served at the hotel. Overnight: Tugu Malang, located at the heart of the old town, facing the monument of Indonesia’s struggle for independence and a beautiful lotus pond park.
Day 05 : MOUNT BROMO (B)
Early morning excursion to see the sunrise coming up beautifully from Mount Penanjakan (subjected to weather condiotion) and drive further down to the crater and on horseback across the sand sea to reach Mount Bromo. Then, returning to Malang.
Day 06 : MALANG – IJEN (B)
After breakfast, leave Malang for the trip eastwards to Ijen. Drive along well culitivated land and rural countryside views. Photo stops and coffee break enroute are possible. Overnight: Ijen Resorts and Villas perched at the edge of the rainforest of Ijen National Pak and overlooking terraced rice fields to a row of volcanoes.
Day 07 : IJEN – BALI (B)
Short transfer to Pal Tuding is available. Then, begin trekking for 2 hours along shady trek with amazing views leading to the crater of Ijen. The stunning view is unveiled at 2883 meters attitude. The lake eerie color and smoke wafting from bright yellow sulfur deposits create the landscape desolate, barren and vibrantly alive. You can see the miners descend into the crater and re-emerge carrying up 80 kilos of ore on bamboo basket along treacherous path. Exploration takes place at own pace. Returning to the hotel and drive to Ketapang harbor to catch ferry to Bali. Drop off at your hotel of choice in Bali.
